Bio

 
Professor Melville is an Associate Psychiatrist at The Dawn Practice and Professor of Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry at the University of Glasgow. He has worked as an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist since 2003 and is registered with the GMC in both General Adult Psychiatry and Learning Disabilities Psychiatry.

 

He has extensive expertise in the assessment and management of adults with neurodivergent profiles such as ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities, as well as a wide range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. He takes a collaborative approach, working closely with clients and families to create personalised, holistic care plans.

 

Alongside clinical work, Professor Melville is actively engaged in research on integrated care approaches for neurodevelopmental and mental health problems, the connections between physical and mental health, and the role of clinician communication in building strong therapeutic relationships.
