Julie Smith is an Associate Psychologist at The Dawn Practice and is HCPC registered. She has over 18 years of post-qualification experience working across public, private, and educational psychology services, with a particular expertise in neuropsychology and learning differences.
 
Julie specialises in neurodevelopmental and learning assessments, including autism, ADHD, acquired brain injury, epilepsy, and specific learning difficulties. She also provides trauma-focused therapy and has experience in medico-legal reporting and concussion management. Her approach is holistic and person-centred, combining structured assessments with clinical observation and collaboration with families, schools, and professionals to ensure tailored recommendations.
 
Her background includes senior posts within multidisciplinary teams, leading therapy services, and teaching roles, including as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde where she supervised trainee psychologists. She brings warmth, compassion, and a focus on individual strengths to her clinical work.
