Bio

 
Dr. Ruth Young is an Associate Clinical Psychologist at The Dawn Practice and is HCPC registered. Alongside private practice, Ruth has extensive experience working in the NHS, qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2013 and now working as a Consultant.

 

Ruth provides assessment, formulation and therapy for adults who are experiencing a range of psychological difficulties including the impact of trauma, anxiety, OCD, panic, and low mood or depression. Ruth is a highly compassionate and collaborative clinician who draws from a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT-approaches and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT).

 

Ruth has additional experience in the area of neurodivergence, always using a neuro-affirmative, person-centred approach and frequently adapting therapeutic approaches to better fit the person in therapy. In addition to therapeutic work, Ruth is skilled in diagnostic assessment for autism.
