Bio

Dr Overend is an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with 22 years’ experience in the NHS and an Associate at The Dawn Practice. She has experience in several NHS services with the majority of her experience being in Adult mental health. She has extensive experience in neurodiversity assessing and diagnosing ASD using the ADOS-2 and the ACIA. She also provides therapy for clients with a diagnosis of ASD and/or ADHD.

Dr Overend has additional training in trauma focused CBT, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), CFT and ACT. Using an individualized formulation-based approach, she can integrate elements of these approaches to tailor treatment specifically to the clients’ needs. She has extensive experience working with clients with complex PTSD and is also experienced in neuropsychological assessment.

Dr Overend is currently completing a Masters in Leading Digital Transformation in Healthcare and works as the Clinical Lead for Digital Therapies in her NHS role. Alongside clinical practice, she has experience in supervision and teaching and has lectured on the University of Glasgow Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme.
