Bio

 
Dr. Alan Mackenzie is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist with wide-ranging experience across secure inpatient, prison, and community settings. He currently works at Rowanbank Clinic and HMP Low Moss, providing assessment and treatment for individuals with complex mental health needs.

 

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 2013 and went on to complete postgraduate training in psychiatry, including specialist training in forensic psychiatry. Dr. Mackenzie also holds a Master’s degree in Psychiatry (Distinction) from Cardiff University and achieved his Certificate of Completion of Training in Forensic Psychiatry in 2023.

 

Alongside clinical practice, he has contributed to national workforce planning with the Scottish Government and has experience in teaching, leadership, and quality improvement. He has presented at national conferences and remains actively involved in advancing psychiatric education and service development.
